Mapping Change/DEI Roadmap

Building out your Institutional Equity Roadmap is a challenging, yet rewarding, process designed to strengthen clarity, alignment and accountability across the institution and/or field. This work includes a series of facilitated workshops/dialogues, and corresponding leadership Call-to-Actions (homework). Your team’s successful completion of each step in Sankofa’s Mapping Change Cycle will produce a valuable resource that effectively guides individual and collective actions, and fuels success across DEI efforts.

The resulting clarity in direction, expectations and communication will pave the way for transformational and sustainable outcomes. 


Through the Mapping Change Cycle, Sankofa consultants guide your organization in outlining a unique DEI Roadmap that supports the specific needs and realities in your company or organization. (Process timing and level of support depends on the needs and capacity of your particular team.) Your Institutional DEI Roadmap will strengthen communication, clarity and alignment for team members across your institution by outlining answers to the following critical questions:


Why?

Why is this journey critical to our individual and collective success and wellbeing?

Who?

Who will our success most benefit/impact? Who’s responsible for ensuring success?

Where?

Where are we headed (key goals/objectives)? How will we know we’re getting there (indicators)?

What?

What information, perspectives and insights must we center, as we move through challenges and opportunities ahead?

How?

Which specific steps/actions/shifts are needed to ensure success? (ie. changes to systems/practices, resources/tools, supports & accountabilities)

Organizational Equity Review

Your team has thoughtfully considered --and committed to-- the work and intention required to promote diversity, build inclusion and advance equity across your organization. As you move forward in this work, a strong sense of awareness of your organizational “readiness” and the establishment of “baseline” insights are essential to your set-up for success. 


Discovery

Sankofa consultants, experienced in equity-review and stakeholder engagement will partner with your internal DEI Council and/or Executive Team to conduct a thoughtful review process to increase awareness and ownership of current organizational DEI realities.
