Robby Callahan Schreiber
Robby Callahan Schreiber is an engaged and passionate professional with 15+ years of cumulative experience in equity-centered leadership development, facilitation, and community engagement. He utilizes his strategic visioning, networking, and intercultural communication skills to elevate and champion racial equity and inclusion work in communities across Minnesota and beyond. In 2017, he co-created a new Museum Access & Equity department at the Science Museum of Minnesota, of which he currently serves as director, as a strategic response to disparities in museum visitor demographics, staff diversity and retention.
With a background in experiential education instruction, Robby has led programming for Conservation Corps MN & IA, as well as the Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs. At the Science Museum of Minnesota he worked for over ten years with high school and college-age young people in STEM education, leadership development, community engagement, and workforce development. Since 2017 he has focused on supporting racial equity dialogue and action across Minnesota. He directed the RACE in Greater Minnesota project in which three communities - Worthington, Moorhead, Rochester - hosted a version of the RACE: Are We So Different? exhibit and developed community-based programming and professional development associated with the exhibit. He recently directed the STEM-RJ: Advancing Conversations that Intersect STEM and Racial Justice project to support people’s ability to understand, process, and work toward dismantling systemic racism in the Twin Cities metro, Fargo/Moorhead, and Rochester communities.
Robby is certified and experienced as a Qualified Administrator in The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®), a restorative justice Circle Keeper, and Tools of Participation facilitator (CPTF). In addition, he has completed over 120 hours of Global Career Development Facilitator training outlined by the NDCA. A 2014 graduate of the Wilder Foundation’s Neighborhood Leadership Program and 2017-2019 member of the One Sky Institute, Robby has expertise in broadening participation in STEM and equity initiatives through public and community engagement and informal science education programs.
Robby holds a BA degree from St. John’s University in Liberal Studies with concentrations in biology and philosophy. He, his partner Mary, and their two elementary school-aged children, Maeve and Ollie, are proud residents of the Hamline-Midway neighborhood in St. Paul.
